Some of the strangest mummies ever found were discovered in far away China, in a desert called Takala Makan. They were strange because these mummies were not the dead bodies of Chinese people, but of Europeans. Some of the mummies wore clothes and jewellery that were found only in Europe, and their hair, and the structure of their bones showed them to be definitely European.
How did Europeans end up on a Chinese desert 2000 years ago? Well, scientists managed to read the writing on the walls of the tomb in which these mummies were found. According to these writings, these Europeans had come to China thousands of years ago, and died there. So, the mystery was solved. But, how did these Europeans died about 1000 years ago?
